In this Associate Director, Portfolio Management role you will:

  • Lead pieces of work to identify trends, issues and opportunities in the credit portfolio through proactive data analysis, with the ability to manipulate data from various sources.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across 1st and 2nd line teams, including portfolio managers, to identify forward looking indicators and data driven insights regarding portfolio performance
  • Mentoring and directing junior team members
  • Assess the impact of market conditions, economic trends and financial news
  • Be an SME in your space that has the ability to work cohesively with your team and stakeholders in order to drive improvement across the business
  • Undertake portfolio management through data analytics to ensure safe operation of the bank
  • Help NAB to make key business decisions off the back of the insights you provide

What you will bring

  • A mix of strong technical skills within data analysis and a proven history of stakeholder management
  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics, including data manipulation from various sources and relational databases for either portfolio monitoring or model development purposes
  • Strong data analysis and extraction skills with experience in programming languages such as SQL, R and Python, as well as proficiency in statistical analysis and visualisation tools and software
  • Experience in working in banking ideally with an understanding of the credit risk portfolio and lifecycle
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills with experience driving stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in turning complex data sets into easily understandable insights for stakeholders
  • The capacity to take accountability for project deliverables (both outcomes and timeframes)
  • An ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced and dynamic team
  • Business acumen and commercial nous
