As the Head of Audit for Program Assurance, you will have a unique opportunity to shape and drive assurance strategies across our high-impact projects, including major technology transformations, complex change initiatives and customer remediation programs.

- People Leadership: Lead and inspire a dynamic team to provide project assurance across diverse portfolios.
In this Head of role, you will
- Understand the organisation’s project portfolio and identify significant projects requiring independent assurance by Audit.
- Engage with the Executive Leadership Team to manage cross-portfolio concurrent project audits within resource and time budgets.
- Develop and implement the audit approach for projects based on risk assessments.
- Lead the execution of audit engagements focused on providing assurance over the delivery of identified projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, incl senior executives, program directors/teams to ensure audit insights are valued and considered in decision making. This would include attending and actively participating in Project Advisory Boards.
- Share meaningful insights with management and the Board on project risk management at NAB.
- Actively keep up to date with best practice methodologies, tools and emerging trends in project and program assurance.
- Lead people in line with NAB’s leadership expectations.
- As a key member of the Audit extended leadership team, deliver the Internal Audit strategy.
What you’ll bring
- Substantial years of experience in program/project delivery/assurance.
- Proven ability to assess governance over large-scale transformation initiatives/system solutions with large operational impact. Preferably with experience in financial services.
- The successful candidate will play a critical role in assessing and evaluating the design and effectiveness of project governance, risk management and control processes across a diverse project portfolio.
- Proven experience in agile ways of working.
- Strong strategic focus and ability to communicate with influence.
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management/Commerce/Business/Finance.
- Internal audit experience is advantageous, but not essential.
